Building Your Obligation Register
How to structure, import, and maintain your compliance obligation register in Conformii.
What Is an Obligation Register?
Your obligation register is the core record of everything your organization is required to do to maintain regulatory compliance. In Conformii, each obligation has:
Importing an Existing Register
If you have an existing register (Excel, CSV or another format), your success manager can help convert it to Conformii's format. A standard import includes: obligation title, regulatory reference, owner name, frequency and any existing evidence notes.
Building from a Template
Conformii maintains template obligation registers for common regulatory frameworks including:
Your success manager will recommend the right templates based on your operational footprint.
Structuring Your Register Effectively
Group obligations by operational area, not just regulatory source. This makes it easier to assign ownership and for operational teams to see their responsibilities.
Be specific about evidence requirements. "Document compliance" is not a useful evidence requirement. "Attach signed inspection form and upload to the obligation record" is.
Set realistic frequencies. Some obligations are annual; others are monthly or triggered by events. Configure the correct recurrence so the system generates the right reminders.
Keeping Your Register Current
Your register should be a living document. When regulations change, your register should be updated to reflect new or modified obligations. Conformii's regulatory monitoring function flags changes that may affect your register — review these alerts promptly and update the relevant obligations.
